David Adedeji Adeleke (born November 21, 1992), known professionally as Davido, is an American born Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer who has been instrumental in popularizing Afrobeats on a global scale.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Davido initially studied business administration before dropping out to pursue music full time. He burst onto the Nigerian music scene in 2011 with the energetic hit single “Dami Duro,” which paved the way for his highly successful 2012 debut album, “Omo Baba Olowo”.
